Create a Custom Wall Hanging with a Tufting Gun

Ready to learn how to tuft? Join guest instructor Rosalie Gale of Ugly Baby for a fun, hands-on tufting class at The Pour Haus and create your own custom wall hanging using a tufting gun. This beginner-friendly workshop focuses on helping students feel confident using the tufting gun while bringing their design ideas to life.
Each student will work on a frame with approximately 26″ × 26″ of usable space—large enough for bold artwork, but flexible enough that you can tuft a smaller design if you prefer. Rosalie provides everything: the frame, fabric, tufting gun, acrylic yarn, and guidance throughout the class. All you need to bring is your design concept. After registration, you’ll receive an email asking what you plan to tuft.

Acrylic yarn is provided in a variety of colors and is ideal for wall hangings. If you’d like to work with specific shades, you’re welcome to bring size 4 acrylic yarn of your choosing.
You’ll also receive instructions on how to finish your tufted piece. Depending on your design size and tufting speed, you may or may not complete your project during class. You can finish it at home, or during one of Ugly Baby’s Open Tufting Studio sessions. Every student receives a 100% off coupon for one open studio session—an additional three hours of tufting time perfect for finishing your piece or starting something new.

Rosalie Gale is best known for co-inventing Shower Art—waterproof art to hang in your shower. She and her husband, Doug, run Ugly Baby and have made a living creating wonderfully weird art pieces far longer than anyone expected.
