Laura Zeng’s artistic practice centers on cute and feel-good illustrations—often featuring cats and other animals—that also touch on deeper themes of identity, cultural dissonance, and work-life balance.

As a Chinese American artist with a background in tech, Zeng uses nostalgia, humor, and everyday absurdities to reflect her lived experiences. She creates stickers, prints, and small accessories that are accessible, collectible, and designed to spark delight.

Through Seattle Restored, she now has a space to experiment with new media like painting and 3D modeling/printing. Having a studio at Base Camp Studios 2 has been especially meaningful for Zeng, as it allows her to connect with other artists and exchange ideas in a collaborative environment.

Through her work, she hopes to reach a broader audience in Seattle, build community, and create art that helps people feel a little more seen and a little less alone.
