Kayla Wroblewski’s practice is a multimedia exploration—including painting, tattooing, and digital media—driven by the subjects that capture her interest during her experiences in the world. In the Seattle Restored at Base Camp Studios 2 space, she will push her practice into large-scale paintings that use color theory, emotional landscapes, and humor to convey personal moments that echo universal experiences and ethos that exist on a grander scale.

As a Crohn’s survivor, Wroblewski’s perspective is shaped by her experiences within the United States medical system. Through painting, she aims to explore the contradictions she sees within the healthcare system, the American concept of the body, and its connection and disconnection to the American concept of health.
