Bill creatively combines his rich cultural heritage with modern urban art\, drawing inspiration from his Tlingit roots and his love for cartoons and video games. His colorful artwork tells the stories\, values\, and beliefs of the Tlingit people\, influenced by his experiences across the United States and Europe. \nThis family-friendly event is perfect for all ages! Discover Bill Pfeifer Jr.’s artistic journey and learn about his influences and creative process. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and interact with the artist. Coloring sheets will be available for children to enjoy. \nDon’t miss this chance to explore the vibrant world of traditional and contemporary art with Bill Pfeifer Jr. on the Seattle Waterfront\, in front of the six stunning mural wraps. \nRSVP\n  \nEvent Details \nThis event will be held outdoors for a close-up view of the six vibrant art murals designed for the Promenade Pop-ups at Spring St. and Alaskan Way. Prints will be available for sale and everyonewho RSVPS and attends will be entered into a door prize drawing. Ten attendees will have the chance to be a recipient of an artist print of one of the murals or pack of artist designed stickers. \nWhere: Along the Waterfront Park promenade at the intersections of Spring Street. Two kiosks will be located this intersection – be sure to check the Seneca Street intersection for two additional kiosks with beautiful murals designed by Sarah Folden. Visit them both while you’re here! \nMore about the Promenade Pop-ups: \nPromenade Pop-Ups at Waterfront Park is a partnership between Friends of Waterfront Park\, Seattle Restored\, and El Centro de la Raza. This summer marks the first year of the Vendor Pilot Program\, bringing eight locally owned\, small businesses to showcase their product lines in semi-permanent pop-up kiosks along the Waterfront Park promenade at the Seneca and Spring Street intersections. The program highlights the vibrant business community already on the waterfront\, activates new areas of Waterfront Park\, and supports local businesses. \nThe beautiful artworks adorning some of the kiosks were done by two inspiring Indigenous artists: Sarah Folden (Cowlitz Tribal member) and Bill Pfeifer Jr. (Tlingit Tribal Member). \n\n  \nRSVP

This is a great opportunity to explore the variety of studio spaces available\, as each studio differs in size and layout. We will be hosting two sessions—one in the afternoon and one in the evening—to accommodate artists with varying schedules. DESCRIPTION:The 6th annual ACES // Artists of Color Expo & Symposium will take place August 16 – 17\, 2024 at KEXP at Seattle Center! \n\n\nACES is a BIPOC-led\, community-curated program featuring art exhibits\, live performances\, film screenings\, and artist talks. We are coming together with intentionality to value our work and see one another as resources\, while focusing on the challenges and solutions we face as artists of color in the Pacific Northwest. \n\n\n  \n\n\n  \nShunpike is a Seattle-based 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides administrative and financial services to arts organizations throughout Washington State. Shunpike also produces arts programming such as ACES (Artists of Color Expo & Symposium)\, Storefronts\, and Seattle Restored\, and facilitates the use of The Studio at 2+U.
